This easy-to-use tool makes counting 'calories' a lot more fun - compare totals and find out all the juicy facts. Once you’ve found a Panarottis meal to suit your taste and nutritional needs, simply pop in at your favourite Panarottis and we’ll lovingly prepare it for you. Hey presto!

Why does Panarottis offer nutritional analysis of its menu?

At Panarottis we believe it’s important to be transparent so our customers can make informed decisions as to what they eat. We want to support informed choices by labelling accurately and providing nutritional analysis. Any form of food claim needs to be substantiated by actual nutritional analysis, eg Carb Conscious, Better for You etc. Healthy food choices are an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.

Calories VS Kilojoules:

The amount of energy in food is measured in terms of kilojoules or kilocalories. Kilocalories are commonly known as calories and abbreviated as kcal. The word 'kilojoule' ('kJ' on nutritional tables) is more commonly used in South Africa, whereas the Americans still use 'calorie'. Essentially, 'kilojoules' and 'calories' both define the energy value of food. One calorie (kcal) has the same energy value as 4.186 kilojoules (kJ), while one kilojoule is equivalent to 0.24 calories. One calorie is the amount of energy that will raise the temperature of one liter of water by 1 degree Celsius.
